The Orchesterwerkstatt Halberstadt provides an unique opportunity for young composers from all over Germany and other European countries: Under the supervision of renowned lecturers and in collaboration with the Harz Symphony Orchestra, the orchestra of the Harz Theatre, the selected participants may rehearse their own compositions under professional conditions.
By working with distinguished lecturers in accompanying seminars, the participants also broaden their artistic horizon as well as their composition skills. In workshops at local general education schools, the young composers also share their experiences and motivations for their musical activities with young people their age.
At the final concert, the compositions are premiered by the Harz Symphony Orchestra under MD Johannes Rieger.
